Analyzing San Francisco City Compensation data with Metabase

The “Metabase” is a new-to-me tool for open source analytics. I recently tried it out analyzing compensation data for the City of San Francisco. I even built it into an app to demonstrate how seamlessly this free tool can integrate into your existing application. No under-the-hood python on top of your code. By the same token, it requires less overhead for managing a whole Tableau, Power BI, or Looker instance.

I am floored by how fast deployment went. The dashboards and UI are intuitive for someone like myself has some familiarity with data viz tools. The only drawback I can imagine is having to pay $85/month for a Pro license. In any case . . .
